Senior Estimator
About The Job:
Prodims is currently accepting resumes for Senior Estimators with transportation (transit, airport) and tunnel estimating experience. Hands on experience working on heavy civil underground, shaft, bridge, dam, concrete, steel, pile driving, and coffer dam projects a plus. Candidate must have experience working with/ heavy/civil contractors.
The Senior Estimator is responsible for providing and coordinating full estimating services on large, complex transportation and public works construction projects. Candidates must have strong computer skills, and be familiar with scheduling and estimating software programs including (HCSS) and MS Project. Candidate will establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards. Initiate and maintain liaison with client and contractors to facilitate construction activities. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
• Identify scope of work and perform quantity takeoff from RFQ information for transportation projects
• Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, indentifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price
• Work with owner/client, coordinate with field operations, create and manage schedules, and attend project meetings
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Identify project resources required for the project based on the scope of work
• Manage the project to the approved project budget and scope. Manage project change orders
• Review available plans and specifications to make sure estimate effort is in compliance
• Perform conceptual estimates when detailed design information is not yet available
• Solicit pricing from material vendors and subcontractors
• Coordinate with team to develop overall estimate for larger projects
• Interface with project design team to ensure estimated construction methods and diagrams to perform the work are safe, workable and efficient
• Ensure all estimates are complete and in compliance
• Develop project schedules to meet owner requirements
• Ensure estimates address all potential safety risks and concerns
• Assist with proposals when requested
• Maintain base bid documents and organize estimate information
Qualifications/Requirements:
• BS in engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience
• 7-10 years experience estimating transportation transit, airport and heavy civil tunnel projects and tunnel/heavy civil dam, concrete, steel, pile driving, coffer dam experience is a plus
• Ability to estimate any structural, civil, projects a plus
• Proficient with scheduling and estimating software including HCSS, P6, and MS Office
• Able to read, understand and interpret drawings, contract specifications and other technical documents used in mechanical, construction and general contracting
• Well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities including project mangers, customers, clients, subcontractors, and staff
• Displays strong written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills
• Self-starting, highly motivated and goal-oriented, quick, sharp, confident, assertive, ethical and ambitious individual
• Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality. Very organized with a systematic approach to tasks to achieve accuracy and efficiency

ABOUT THE JOB:
Prodims is currently accepting qualified Senior Civil Scheduler resumes with over eight years of scheduling
experience on rail and heavy civil tunnel, underground, shaft, bridge, dam, concrete, steel, pile driving, and coffer dam
projects. Candidate must have experience working with/for a heavy/civil contractor.
Candidate will be responsible for developing and accurately maintaining integrated master/sub-project schedules, ensuring
schedule logic is maintained, coordinating work activities with project team members, progressing schedules and assisting
in identifying and resolving schedule conflicts.
Candidate must have strong computer skills, and familiar with scheduling software programs including P6. Candidate will
establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards. Initiate and maintain liaison with client and
contractors, to facilitate construction activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate all aspects of pre-construction and construction activities
• Maintain oversight of architectural and engineering planning, and execution of facilities construction
• Manage the site development and construction phase of project to ensure compliance with schedule, engineering
specifications, site safety and environmental concerns
• Interface as customer liaison during pre-construction and construction phases of project
• Coordinate the day-to-day interface of architecture and engineering firms, general contractors, and construction firms
in the planning and construction of the facilities
• Prepare schedules and reports for all construction activities, including timeline projections for delivery and
completion
• Oversee execution of the work to ensure compliance with specifications, schedule, quality of work, work site safety,
and costs
• Analyze options for accomplishment of work by contractors and subcontractors, or a combination of both and
recommends optimum approach
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Equivalent is required
• Qualified applicants must have a strong background in construction industry
• Individuals must have sufficient training, technical expertise, and familiarity with company policies and
procedures
• Experience in the construction industry with a commercial general contractor, or a consulting firm
• Proficient with P6 scheduling software is mandatory
Must have experience in scheduling heavy civil (tunnel) construction projects
• Knowledge in scheduling concepts and how they relate to cost and schedule integration in Earned Value
Management
• Extensive knowledge in schedule management from initial schedule development through program
completion
• The position requires the ability to train technical and financial personnel in Earned Value Management

Rail, (light and heavy), Tunnel, Highways, and Bridges; Water, Wastewater, (CSO Tunnels), Pump stations and Utilities;

Qualified candidates will be responsible for managing the above construction projects. He/she will be responsible for
field construction, QA/QC Inspection oversight, and financial aspects of managed projects. Specific responsibilities
will include but are not limited to resolving all issues related to completing projects on schedule and within budget,
providing periodic status reports to management, and maintaining project files.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or demonstrated combination of education/training and experience
• 10 plus-years experience in the construction industry
• Minimum of 8-years hands-on CM field experience
• Certifications preferred: Registered Professional Engineer, Certified Construction Manager, (CMAA), (PMP)
and Design Build Accredited Professional (DBIA), LEED Accreditation and experience working on LEED Certified
projects
• Must be able to work in a professional and fast-paced environment
